Google Adsense Verification Issues for Sure.com Phone Number
Introduction
For those wishing to monetise their websites through advertising revenue, Google Adsense is certainly one way to go. AdSense makes it easy to earn money from your content, whether you’re an independent creator or a larger company. But what happens when you run into issues during the initial setup of Adsense? Read on to discover more…
Landing Page
To setup Adsense, you will want to go to their landing page and run through the initial steps (having a Google account is a prerequisite for setting up Adsense). During the initial setup of Adsense, you will be prompted to confirm a few details including a valid phone number for the region you are in.
Verification
If you are based in the Channel Islands, you may hit the same issue as I have when attempting to verify your number. As there isn’t a specific region for Channel Islands in the region picker, most CI residents would select UK as their region instead.
The issue is that if you now attempt to verify your CI phone number e.g a number that starts 07781, you will receive an error message “Enter a valid GB phone number that starts with a +44 country code”.

Mobile numbers registered in the Channel Islands definitely have the +44 prefix however there’s definitely something blocking me from validating my number.
Support
To help resolve the issue, I posted a question in the Adsense community support forum and you can read the thread here.
Resolution
The resolution to this issue is still pending however I will update this post once I know some more details and hopefully get my number verified for Adsense payments!
Happy Learning!
